Open SMS Pro: FAQ


  1. What are the Gateways that OpenSMSPro supports?

Twilio and Nexmo Gateways are supported.


  1. How do you provide Opt-Out for messages?

Any incoming message that you receive with a ‘STOP’ keyword will mark the Lead/Contact (Salesforce record) field ‘SMS Optout’ as true. You can also define Opt-out Keywords of your own in the Gateway Settings of the App and use them as per your business use case.


  1. Can I build Reports?

The success and failure of the messages are tracked using the Reports OpenSMSPro SMSContact Report, OpenSMSPro SMSLead Report and OpenSMSPro DailyLogReport . All the outgoing messages are tracked in openSMSLog object. You can also develop custom reports using data in this object.


  1. Do you support Automation i.e Process Builder?

Yes. SMS Automation can be easily done with OpenSMSPro App.


  1. Are you handling Opt-In’s?

By making the ‘SMS Optout’ as false on the record you can Opt-In in receiving the SMS.


  1. What are the Salesforce objects that are supported to send SMS?

Contacts, Leads, Campaigns, Events, Accounts and Custom objects


  1. How many characters can my SMS message have?

Generally, a single SMS message can have 160 characters.


  1. What happens if my message is too long to be sent in a single SMS?

If your message is over the character limit it will be split into multiple messages by the carrier. Messages will show as a single message in Salesforce and for the recipient, however additional message charges may apply.


  1. How do I check the status of the message that is sent?


All the outgoing messages are tracked in openSMSLog object. Alternatively using SMS Status field on the activity created on that particular record you can check whether it is success or Failure.


  1. Can I send automated messages using Open SMS Pro?


By configuring Welcome, Help and Stop messages in the Gateway configuration as per your business needs you can send the respective automated messages to the user when they reply with keyword.


  1. What data do you store in your servers?

We only store minimal Subscriber contact information, license details in our Payment Gateway. Your customer information and SMS data are not stored in our servers.


  1. My trail expired, how do I upgrade?

OpenSMSPro license expires 30 days after installation. Currently, you can contact AppShark Sales (XXXXX@appshark.com)in order to upgrade OpenSMSPro.
